![]() ![]() yeah not so good for pushing a wheelchair up especially when you have no momentum and can only go 4-6" at a time. Also, no elevators (at least not marked and good luck finding someone to tell you where it is if they did have one) just long steep ramps. Well we were still outside for almost another 90 minutes in the freezing cold waiting for them to start letting us in, the concert was supposed to start at 10:30 he didn't go on until midnight because of all the mayhem. Doors were supposed to open at 10pm, we got there at 10:30 because I didn't want her to have to deal with the crowd right when the doors opened. I came to take my handicap aunt to see Garth Brooks, his later show that evening. I've gone to a lot of concerts all over this country and this was by far my worse experience ever. Drinks, alcohol and food is a pretty expensive - but we expected that also. Overall I think they did a good job considering all the challenges. The first show let out around 9:45 - and they started letting us in about 10:45 for the second show. Overall - the arena, restrooms and area were very clean - especially since they only had a short amount of time between concerts. They didn't get the concert started until 12 AM - and even though we got in and to our seats an hour before they finally get started, if I had been on the outside, I would have been very grateful that they didn't start before everyone had a chance to get in. Didn't really matter, because I didn't sit after the concert started anyway. Seats were comfortable, but not a lot of leg room - I am on 5'3 so - I can't imagine someone taller being totally comfortable. A back up plan is definitely needed should this happen in the future. From what I understand, the ticket scanners went down, so we ended up tearing the bottoms off our printed tickets and just handing it to them when they did start letting us in. I have to admit - the thought of fire did cross my mind - and that would have been bad. They did open the doors so that some of us could get inside - but was then held in that area - packed shoulder to shoulder for about a half hour. I also realize you can't empty an arena in 10 minutes and that these things take time. It also helped that our hotel (Days Inn - Inner Harbor) was just across the street - so no worries there! I also expected mass confusion and crazy crowding with 2 shows being so close together. I totally expected a later start (than 10:30) but am grateful that this information was passed on. After checking the website the day before the concert, it was stated that doors would not open until the first show was over and everyone was out. This show was scheduled to begin at 10:30 PM. We attended the second show on Saturday night. Unbelievable in this day that anything could repeatedly happen with out anyone addressing it.oh by the way Garth was great.įirst and foremost - Garth Brooks gave an Amazing concert. The arena itself is a dump in comparison to others that we have been to and I have a hard time understanding why Garth or Bruce would ever play this cesspool of an arena. I saw at least two people walking around with knives in their side pockets. You should also address the fact that when it got crazy all security protocols went out the window. The management staff should take a long hard look at the way they are operating and make some adjustments. In without any issues but Royal Farms was a joke. What gives here? Why couldn't someone get in front of his and start making announcements? We had paperless tickets for Springsteen the night before at Verizon in DC and had NO issues at all. AGAIN THERE WAS NO DIRECTION FROM THE AREA! Apparently they had the same issue the night before and had the same chaotic lines with no direction. We waited outside for almost 2 hours before getting into the lobby to find that out and then had to fight our way over to the ticket window to get tickets printed out. ![]() We had paperless tickets but apparently the readers went down and no one could get in without a paper ticket and you had to get one from the box office. There was absolute chaos outside the arena with no direction from the officials of the arena. Last night at a Royal Farms Arena was by far the worst experience that I have ever had in 40 years of concert going. ![]()
